Consular Services done at the High Commission

Steps:

Emergency Travel Document

  • Submit documents (passport photo, copy of old passport or police report) to High Commission
  • Make payment to bank details provided by the High Commission and submit proof of payment to the High Commission
  • Wait for processing of application and collect Emergency Travel Document from the High Commission on date provided to applicant (processing time is aprox. 1 day and instantly upon emergency)

Certification of Documents

  • For documents issued in Rwanda, applicant is to submit documents to notary and Ministry of Foreign affairs in Rwanda (except for driver’s licence certification ) for approval
  • For documents issued in Zambia Applicant is to submit documents to Commission of Oath and Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Zambia for approval
  • Submit valid documents that need certifying to the High Commission
  • If applicable you will be notified to make payment to bank details provided by High Commission and submit proof of payment
  • Wait for processing of documents and collect certified documents on date provided by the High Commission

Officiating of Marriage

  • Visit the High Commission to Register as a couple with the following documents: Passports, IDs, Certificate of Celibacy, birth certificates)
  • Notification of day of counselling is given to couple
  • Notification of wedding ceremony to take place at chancery is communicated to the couple (Two witnesses are to be present)

Birth Record

  1. Parents are to visit High Commission with documents of parents, the child and two (2) witnesses. (Documents include: Parents IDs, Child’s birth certificate and witnesses’ IDs)
  2. Applicants (Parents) are to wait for processing of birth record and collect document on date provided by the High Commission

Death Record

  1. Family representative submits documents of deceased (death certificate from hospital, passport and ID) as well as the ID of the family representative together with ID’s of two(2) witnesses
  2. Applicant is to wait for processing of death record and collect document on date provided by the  High Commission
